What is the Rainbow Eastenders Group?

The Rainbow Eastenders is a group of active senior gay men that get together to socialize, travel, and attend group outings and activities.

Purpose of the Group

1) A social group, a way to make friends in a group setting.

2) Since Rainbow Vista is located away from downtown Portland, having a gay social group on the eastside is a great way to get to meet other gay men in the area. It also gives you a chance to meet other residents that live at Rainbow Vista and tour our facility.

3) A planned activity for our residents to do on the weekend.

4) A great way to discuss gay senior issues with other like minded individuals.

5) Help conquer the feeling of isolation. A way to open up to others without the fear of being judged.

Group Meeting Times

The Rainbow Eastenders Group will meet the THIRD Saturday of every month at 11:00 A.M. Patrons are to meet in Rainbow Vista’s front lobby. The group should not leave Rainbow Vista before 11:15 A.M. to make sure everyone that is going to attend has arrived. New patrons should have R.S.V.P. with the Manager before hand. This can be done via email (ian@rainbowvista.com), or via phone @ 503-667-5575.

General Agenda/ Activities During the Group

Once all the patrons have arrived in the lobby at Rainbow Vista we will introduce you to everyone. We can give you a tour of Rainbow Vista and give you any information about our facility that we have. Going out for lunch or having lunch here is the next event since this is a great way to socialize and get to know everyone. After lunch will be an activity such as: a nature hike, a scenic drive, go to the zoo or park, attend an event, Portland Saturday Market, shopping, tour a historic site, etc. The activity should be something fun that would help develop friendships.

Cost for Patrons

There is no membership cost for attending the Rainbow Eastenders. Patrons should plan to pay for their own lunch and other cost for activities and events (i.e. ticket prices, entrance fees, parking, gas).
